Vehicle Description This is a custom two door 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero Fastback.
Modification and restoration of this custom occurred in the mid 80's which included modifications and restoration of the chassis, power-train, interior and exterior.
Front clip, engine, transmission, rear axle, and steering column are from an early 1980's Chevrolet Camero.
Mileage is unknown.
The original front suspension has been replaced with an early '80 Camero front clip that includes front power disc brakes (with rear drum brakes), independent front suspension with coil over shocks, and power steering and tilt steering wheel.
Front has been lowered with shortened springs and the rear end with 4 lowing blocks.
The Fleetline has a 10 bolt rear axle.
Near new front Goodyear 205/70/15 radials, and rear Patriot 235/75/15 radial tires with aluminum Ultra 15 wheels.
The engine is a Chevy 350ci V8 mated with a Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission.
The engine has a modified 'mild' cam, is fitted with stainless steel Hooker headers with dual exhaust pipes and mufflers, aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, aluminum valve covers, EFI distributer, and a after-market Chevrolet radiator with an electric Spal pusher fan and radiator shroud.
During modifications a new electric fuse panel and 12 volt wiring harness was installed.
A 100amp Tuff Stuff chrome plated alternator is ample to charge the battery while regulating voltage for the upgraded engine components and electrical system.
A Sanden air conditioning compressor is at the heart of the Vintage Air air conditioning system.
Interior and trunk have two tone gray vinyl pleat upholstery and dark gray carpeting that are both in good condition with no nicks or tears.
Door cards, kick panels, rear seat panels, rear window shelf, and headliner are in good condition.
The custom Fleetline is equipped with a working Vintage air conditioning system and heat, working VDO gauges (except digital mileage read out), working wipers and interior and exterior lights (including rear window brake light).
Hidden underside ground effect purple lights have been installed, with light control switches under the interior dash.
A JVC stereo CD and speaker sound system provide good sound.
Front door windows, wing windows, and rear windows are all functioning manual cranks.
Very small spots of scattered superficial body rust is present, and there are scattered and minor dings and scratches (mostly on painted bumpers and one over right rear quarter panel near tail light-see photo), but overall the body is in very good condition.
These imperfections have no structural effect on the vehicle, and overall are aesthetically superficial.
Round tail lights have been frenched in with round blue dot brake lights.
Most original body molding has been shaved, but exterior stainless steel door handles remain, as well as lower stainless steel running board edge and window frames.
Overall the paint is in good condition, and is two tone with metallic burgundy on the front grill, bumpers, and sides; and metallic silver on the hood, roof and back, with gold pin stripping separating the two colors.
Window glass all around is in good condition with the exception of a crack in the passenger side wing window next to the locking mechanism.
All window, door, hood, and trunk gaskets and weather stripping are in good condition and none leak.
